Our Story
From Confusion to Connection — A Mother’s Journey to Change the System
There was a time when Shas, the founder of Autism Ally Foundation, felt completely lost.
She had a child who couldn’t tell her what was wrong — who cried in ways she didn’t understand and saw the world differently than anyone else she knew. She searched for help — doctors, schools, programs, specialists — only to be met with confusion, waitlists, and closed doors.
Everywhere she turned, she heard, “We don’t have that service,” or “Try somewhere else.” But there was nowhere else.
What she needed wasn’t sympathy — it was answers, direction, and real support. She wanted someone to guide her through what autism meant for her child and her family. She needed a place that saw them not as a diagnosis, but as people trying to understand, survive, and grow.
That place didn’t exist — so she decided to build it.
The Birth of Autism Ally Foundation
Autism Ally Foundation was born out of that pain — and turned into purpose. It started with one mother’s determination to make sure that no other family would ever feel as lost, isolated, or ignored as I once did.
Our mission is simple but powerful:
To ensure that every family, from the moment they hear the word “autism,” has a place to turn — for understanding, education, resources, and community.
We believe that awareness is not enough. Families need allyship — real people, real programs, and real solutions that help them navigate the entire spectrum of autism, at every stage of life.
Today, Autism Ally Foundation stands as a beacon of hope, education, and empowerment. From parent workshops to youth programs, advocacy training, and sensory-friendly community events — we are building a network where families find not just information, but belonging.
Because no parent should ever have to face autism alone.
And every child deserves a world that understands them.
